I was at our neighborhood Ace Hardware store today, in the plumbing section, and drifted into a wall of shiny brass parts, and... there was this brass fitting, round, short, drilled out on one side but perfectly cylindrical... but it was in a blister pack, and I couldn't get my finger into it. No way to tell what kind of slide it might make.
I have a bunch of slides already, including a Dunlop brass shorty, but I still find myself trying to stick my finger into places it doesn't belong. For musical reasons only, of course. I'm content with my present slides, but I always seem to be looking for The Next Great Slide.
Is it just me?

It's not just you. I also find myself checking out the plumbing aisles.
