Hi everyone

I don't what happened here
Monday had no idea about a song
Tuesday was writting a love song
Wednesday went blank again
Thursday this dribbled out
That was my week so far

Midnite Oil ( agreat Aussie band ) is how I can imangine this song being sung and played .. If you don't know the band , "Do yourself a favour and google the name and have a listen ....

Its' a protest song about the ever increasing price of oil around the world ever notice when the price of oil goes up the price of fuel goes up that very day , but when it comes down the fuel price don't .....
Same can be said for intrest rates with our banking insitutions goes up by 1% comes down 1/4 of a percent ...

Well enough is enough is all I can say .. hope I am not being political here but we must voice our disgust some how , and this is my way of letting the world know I am pi$$ed off with this situation ...

The bold parts are screamed bugger singing it loudly scream it .....

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

They take our lives for granted
Please listen to what I say
They want to hold our lives to ransom
Their price too high to pay

They can infect our minds
And destroy our lives
But they will never
NO THEY'LL NEVER
NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOM

Working for the man I can understand
Paying the dues for the life we choose
But enough is enough tell em to get stuffed <-------(cleaned up )
We're not buying your oil any more

They can infect our minds
And destroy our lives
But they will never
NO THEY'LL NEVER
NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOM

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

----------------------------------------------------------------

Where is says cleaned up...
my original word started with F and sounds like luck

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am

I know who Midnight Oil is. I had them singing in my head as I read your lyrics.

"But enough is enough tell em to get stuffed <-------(cleaned up )"

Maybe just reverse it--

Tell them to get stuffed. Enough is enough.

Hey Trevor this is great, I can just hear Peter Garrett singing this (I didn't realise he was an MP now).

The 1st verse is really good and drew me right in to the song, and the chorus is just as good. I agree with Joe on the swapping around of that line. Mate I think this is one of your inspired creations well done.

Thanks for the feed back guys ...

Yeah after reading your replies I should not have worried about being politically correct as sometimes , one must say it as it is ....

I was a bit concerned it maybe lacking a verse and a bridge but I kept going over this over and over and still kept comeing up with nothing more and singing it in my head there was big a drum solo and a guitar going off madly .. So words could not be used .. Gee I wish I could play whats in my head ....

Paul thanks for commmeent :Mate I think this is one of your inspired creations well done

cheers
Trevor

side note: If everyone in the world did not purchase fuel for a week the oil barons would be forced to lower the price to where it was only a few years ago ....

Thoughts like that would make it a cheaper place to live ...

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am

Nice Work Guys

You should both be proud of this one.

I agree with Trevor this is really different from what we are use to
hearing from you Paul. I love it when these collaborations come
together so well.

Thanks guys,
I've never really written a heavy rocker, so when I saw what Trevor had written I could see that it had great potential as a rocker, I thought the “Enough is enough” line was an excellent hook just the ticket for a chorus. The extra words are just padding really to fit music, I think (hope) that I have kept the message of the song although I know the specific reference to fuel is not there anymore.
Trevor I'm glad you liked it. As for a departure from my normal style, true but I'm always keen on trying something different.

Cheers

Paul
