This was originally going to be a jokey kind of piece called "Secret Gardens of Suburbia" about people growing, ahem, certain exotic herbs in their attics....but I got sidetracked and came up with this instead - much darker, think of it as a very slow, doomy song with lots of minor chords.....
Secret Gardens.
There are secret places inside us all,
Where no-one may intrude,
Surreptitious private places,
Hidden from the multitude.
Where emotions are withheld,
Latent feelings suppressed,
Veils drawn over frustration,
Our anger lies repressed
And so we suffer in silence,
Afraid of thought and deed,
Our secret gardens of the heart,
Sown with poisoned seed.
But walls can always be breached,
Secrets revealed and cast aside,
Feelings released like a pent-up flood,
Leaving nothing to hide.

Hey Vic,
Another nice offering from the Home Land. I love these lines:
Our secret gardens of the heart,
Sown with poisoned seed.
I do get a feeling that the last verse was a little rushed though, maybe 2 verses here instead on one, just a feeling could be wrong .
Cheers
Paul
Hi Vic
Real nice song
Love this
And so we suffer in silence,

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
PBee - you think it needs more? I had a nagging feeling at the back of my mind it seemed unfinished.....
BTW I finally got around to recording a song from SSG, year 2, week 41 - dates back to August 2004! I always meant to record it, but I tried several times, and it seemed my fingers wouldn't go where I wanted - I must be getting better, because this time both guitar parts took exactly ONE take each! It's on my soundclick site -
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pageartist.cfm?bandID=225059
and it's called "Second String." The lyrics have changed slightly from the original, they're on the soundclick site as well - the original post can be seen at

Hopefully, I'm going to record some more "oldies" over the next few days.....
