Hi everybody! It's been quite awhile...anyway...here it is. Any and all comments appreciated, Gwynne.
Hideout
There's a place I go from time to time
Sometimes I get there only in my mind
Come with me tonight follow me alright
And I'll show you where my love meets the air
In my hideout in my dreams
Live to smell the evergreen
After the rain there's no one to blame
In my hideout
Through the trees behind the moon
Tiptoe on the edge of the indigo blue
Come with me follow me to my hideout
Will you come and hold my face in your hands
Only for tonight I'll let you be my man
Love me tonight come to me alright
We can walk barefoot into the night
In my hideout in my dreams
Live to smell the evergreen
After the rain there's no one to blame
In my hideout
Through the trees behind the moon
Tiptoe on the edge of the indigo blue
Love me come with me to my hideout
Through the trees behind the moon
Tiptoe on the edge of the indigo blue
Love me come with me to my hideout
Stay with me never leave my hideout
Hi everybody! I will be back to comment more on songs, but my power is going out for the whole day! So I have to get my but in gear, Gwynne.
I like this song very much and the imagery. After reading the first line I thought it was going to be like Brian Wilson's In My Room or John and Paul's There's A Place but it took a different turn. It's accessible and attractive and very romantic.
I found a couple of lines were shoe-horned in like the indigo blue but can't think of an alternative straight off.
Lots of possibilities for harmonies and additional instrumentation.
Great stuff
Hi Gwynne,
Nice to see you back here at SSG.
Good stuff as usual and that may be the only minor fault I find with it.
I like your style and always enjoy listening to your songs. I find them to
be well crafted and you have a lovely voice. I would just like to see if
you could push the envelope a little. Maybe it's just me but I would enjoy
hearing you break the mold and surprise us with something really different.
I don't in any way mean to say what you have here is not another really
good song. I like it a lot.
Maybe I should just shut up now and listen to my
own advice.
John
