This song was inspired by poor old Boy Georges current plight, and how easy it would be to go down that route if all your friends and acquaintances were doing it.
Gotta Go
© 2005 Paul Brady
Verse 1
What kind of circles do you live in
Where do you draw the line
What kind of fool do you take me for
That set of values isn't mine
Chorus 1
It's plain to see
Your sphere of influence is…changing me
And I know…I've gotta go
Verse 2
We had a ball at the beginning
You made a B line for me
But now the only lines that you're making
Are white and all begin with C
Chorus 1
It's plain to see
Your sphere of influence is…changing me
And I know…I've gotta go
Verse 3
Now you live with a one-track mind
That seductive embrace
I've got to leave to save myself
Before I'm lost without a trace
Chorus 1
It's plain to see
Your sphere of influence is…changing me
And I know…I've gotta go
Chorus 2
Yeah It's plain to see
That sphere of influence will…distance me
It's a place…I don't wanna go
That's great, Pbee. Didn't really notice anything I'd change. Nice work.
Joe

I haven't listened to the mp3 yet, gotta wait 'til the kids get up. Nice lyrics. Gwynne.

Thanks, it must be early! Or my corners are showing!
That's a cool tune pbee. Didn't stumble over a thing, made good sense, and the tone and feel were excellent.
Our songs also have the standard pop format: Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, solo, bad solo. All in all, I think we sound like The Knack and the Bay City Rollers being molested by Black Flag and Black Sabbath.

Thanks guys for the feedback.
Gwynne:
Can you clue me in on this line its just as geoo whispered. I have to admit that I was a little worried that line might not work but given the mathmatical nature of the assignment I went with it anyway. I wont be around for the next 4-5 days as Ive got some serious golf to be played ,and of course Ive gotta go , no guitars allowed  . So if I dont critique anybody its cos Im not here.
cheers
pbee
I got that line (hehe, no pun intended) with no problem, and I thought it was good, like the rest of it. Happy golfing.
Joe

Just an update really.
I thought that "Gotta Go" had finally got up and gone, when it took a dive to #20. But no, a late charge has seen it rocket to #3 on the Acoustic General charts, which is its highest spot ever. So Im pretty excited about that. :D
Great job. Great lyrics, and great song.
