Romeo's Song.

I want to rest my eyes upon your face.
My hands were made to put your hair back into place.
Your kiss takes me to places I've not known.
All this although we only met but hours ago.

I'd love to hear your voice forever more.
Your brown eyes are the endless journey I adore.
Your hand fits just so perfectly in mine.
I'll tell you my name, will you tell me yours in kind?

Your smile has cast new light upon my cares.
All I want is to run my fingers through your hair.
The curves of your body lead me around.
Not met your parents although they must be so proud.

If I had only known
When I was so young,
The difference between a crush
And falling in love.
Maybe I'd not have got this all so wrong.
Maybe this voice of caution would be my song.

I thought it was good. The image expressed very well. A little more work and you might be able to sell it.

Good enough song, fluent, articulate....only thing I don't understand is how it fits the assignment?

:) :) :)

Hi both - thanks for replying!

It's inspired by Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet, particularly by the fact that they manage to fall in 'love' in about one second flat.

There are a lot of what Bob calls 'placeholders' in the verses - just haven't had time to go back over it yet and write stuff I actually like yet. I don't really like it that much myself, so I may or may not bother - depends how much difficulty I have with next weeks assignment!!!

Thanks again.

G
