OK, so I've actually attempted the last 5 or 6 assignments ( however many it's been since I last posted ), but I never actually finished any of them. So I've stayed up late, and I'm not perfectly happy with it, especially verse 2 ( yeah, and the bridge is a bit too emo too ), but here it is... late, but present. If you'd like, you can hear it at ( http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=337003 ).

Openned My Eyes
© 2006 Robert Gowland

Verse 1:
Reeling from the sunrise
Trying to get me outta bed
Sooner than I'd like

Pushing, prodding me
Underneith the sheets
Dreams come screeching to a halt

Fading from my mind
Like a touch from a pick pocket's hand
Or a footprint in the sand
A photograph in black

The tickle of an echo of words whispered in my ear
The slamming iron door sealing you inside

Chorus:
The last thing I saw before I openned my eyes was you
Then you were gone
And I waved good-bye

The last thing I saw before I openned my eyes was you
And you were gone
When I openned my eyes

Verse 2:

Imagine me and you
I used to
And the sunny fields we'd dance through
Finding the answers in your eyes

Drinking life from the same cup
Then I woke up
With an empty glass inside me

Bridge:
My heart's not breaking
But now I'm waking
To find those pieces on the floor

Your arms around me
But daylight found me
Shivering alone in the cold

Ice cream is a dish best served cold.

Hi Slowplay

I can see why you thought bridge was off - but I reckon it works well especially as Ilistened to the MP3. Great guitar work on that as well - lovely chord sequence to end the chorus.

Good stuff

Bob

Hey guys,

Thanks for the positive feedback.

LK, I live a very sheltered life, and I've really not hear much by Oasis. Now you've got my curiosity up so I'll have to check 'em out.

Hilch, I would have loved to hear your take on verse 2.

Bob, the chord sequence was actually a goof up, but it sounded OK, so I kept it.

Thanks again.
