Beautiful People
© Copyright 2006 Paul Brady
Verse 1
Where are all the beautiful people
The ones you see in the magazines
They're so cool and so appealing
They smile at you with perfect teeth
Chorus 1
They're up there looking down
From the billboards looking down
Why don't we see them
Why don't we see them on the street
Verse 2
Where are all the beautiful people
The ones you read about in books
They've got all the perfect answers
From cover to cover perfect looks
Chorus 2
They're down there in the pages
Talking back from the pages
Why don't we hear them
Why don't we hear them on the street
Bridge
You can see them any time you want
You can see them any time
You want...to stop and look
Verse 3
Where are all the beautiful people
They're not in the magazines
They're down here on the pavement
They're wearing frowns and wearing jeans
Coda
You can see them any time you want
You can see them any time
You want...to stop and look
Hi Pbee
You write yet another really nice song ( little envious here )
Like I have said a 1,000 times I don't think I have the right to critque anyones work . But something stands out for me in this
They're up there looking down
From the billboards looking down
Seems to me a little repeatative to me ( sorry)
They're up there looking around
From the billboards looking down
Maybe ?
Apart from that mate nice song
Hiclh
Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
Nice song mate.
I agree with Hilch, its a little repetative, but I think that helps keep the focus of the song in this case.
Pete
one of those songs people will read, nod their heads, smile and think, "yeah, he's right there!"

Thanks for the comments. Yes I agree there is repetitive phrasing in there, but deliberately so. I'm quite interested to see how people react to that style.
Ive recorded an mp3 here:

Hi Pbee
I take back my first post , the word I mentioned previously does actually fit really well ...
Just an idea after listening to your MP3
You can see them any time you want
You can see them any time
You want...to stop and look
Then Music Music Music
Stop and Look < on look music ends abruptly ...
Just a thought ..
Really enjoyed the MP3 ,
Hilch :?:
Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
It may read repetitively to some, but it sounds great - love the riff you came up with!
Like the bridge/coda - that was the only part I was struggling with a little, like the way you kind of drew it out....
