I really don't like this one, but I haven't posted in a few weeks. Finally something hit me for the week 5 topic, so I jotted it down. I felt that if I didn't post *something* soon, I would slide away and let another whole year pass between postings. :roll:
And as a friend of mine says...many people pay a lot of money for the type of experience we get here!

I stand here before you
In a shell of what was once a happy life
a winter filled with desolation
ravaged by the storms of pain and strife
But...
April comes,
the rains fall on me.
washing clean the stains of my past
Showers fall,
a whisper that brings me
A memory that wastelands cannot last.
I welcome the cascade of gentle rain
so the flowers in my life may bloom again
Mistakes pile on me
knocking down the bridges to my past
I'm following a broken trail
but this dust that stains my spirit cannot last
