I just started reading a book called "Write it Down- Make it Happen" by Henriette Anne Klauser
I'm still not 100% believer in everything presented, and I've only just started the book, but I was laughing at myself when I realized I already followed the technique when it comes to songwriting.....
....after I read the topic of the week, I make a Word document with the title of the assignment. I also make a song file on my DAW.
The practical side is these two files is where I put all the notes and scratch recordings, but it also helps my mindset.
I don't think, "Maybe I might get a song out of this." Instead I think, "This is where this week's song goes....it might not be the best I've done, but it will get done."
Then of course I play around with different ideas to make the best I can for that week, but I've already done the "write it down" part of Write it Down- Make it Happen
