Combined with a 50/90 challenge; 1) to use one unusual word from a list (zenzizenzizenac), and otherwise only use a list of the 500 most common words; 2) start each line with a number. So with that wacky start this is what I have so far, as always comments are welcome, but this is not one of my better ones and is probably heading for the set-aside pile, unless I do a major rewrite. I am resting my voice today and may record later in the week.

Key of A; 4/4 time
Chords: A5 - xo22xx; B5 - x244xx; C#5 - x466xx; D5 - x577xx; E5 - x799xx; E -o221oo;

Verse 1
A5 l A5 l
One week in this little town
B5 l B5 l
Four times ten years ago we moved away
C#5 l C#5 l
Five hundred farms on the turns east and west
D5 l D5 l
One thousand mile road trip to there
E5 l E5 l E5 l E5 l
Two Zenzizenzizenic
A5 l A5 l
Six slow days are all the same
B5 l B5 l
Two mountains full of green plants
C#5 l C#5 l
Ten thousand tall trees in the wood
D5 l D5 l
One thousand people that science passed by
E l E l E l E l
One half Zenzizenzizenic

Verse 2
A5 l A5 l
One school of read, study and learn
B5 l B5 l
Five write a long letter to the city
C#5 l C#5 l
Six streets the place is still the same
D5 l D5 l
Four hundred houses produced in the old days
E5 l E5 l E5 l E5 l
Three Zenzizenzizenic
A5 l A5 l
Six play a slow game on a field
B5 l B5 l
Ten hours of sun on the road
C#5 l C#5 l
One hundred animals on the surface
D5 l D5 l
One thousand birds in the air
E l E l E l E l
Two Zenzizenzizenic

Verse 3
A5 l A5 l
One father and mother stand on own their own
B5 l B5 l
Three king size pictures on the side
C#5 l C#5 l
Five who take part in the call
D5 l D5 l
Six hundred told a story of the down side
E5 l E5 l E5 l E5 l
Five Zenzizenzizenic
A5 l A5 l
One week is done take a walk
B5 l B5 l
Three leave feel we did not talk
C#5 l C#5 l
Ten minutes free then lost family sound
D5 l D5 l
Ten hundred thousand minds can not find
E l E l E l E l
Two hundred men Zenzizenzizenic

Hi Andy,
Kudos for the experimenting :D

I tried reading this earlier and got very confused by all the numbers....now I tried reading just the last part of each line and it seemed to make more sense, but it's hard to connect the ideas between the verses. The closest I could come up with is someone's farmland being ruined by scientific/industrial waste/testing

This form without the numbers is easier to follow a story line.....I know it defeats the purpose of the experiment, but.....

Sounds like the road to 50 is getting pretty rough

Hi Andy,

Thanks for the suggestions, I might rework, eventually, it's actually about a typical very small town, no disasters, no work (major employer closed), not much to do, more people moving away. Guess I haven't recovered from the superskirmish yet, Actually the muse was kind to me over the weekend so I decided to test myself a bit. will FAWM on.

I couldn't figure it out at all. Gave up and went out to fix a flat bike tire. Re-read it and still don't understand.

The town I live in is all about tattoo parlors and cash for gold. Don't really want to write a song about that, I'm depressed enough already. :)

Thanks, that's what I was going for, mystery and confusion. To make matters worse, here is a recording.
