In a far off land
A long time ago
All the stories
We've been told
From America, 1964
A couple of teens
Oh, so very young
running away from home
to see the Beatles
on the Sullivan show
And that is when
the innocence ends
A shot gun wedding
a draft notice sent
a child is born
So raise a glass
Prepare a toast
and drink away
the ghosts
created by John, Paul,
George and Ringo
on the Sullivan show
a life is lost
in a foreign land
another begins
here at home
or so the story goes
So raise a glass
prepare a toast
and drink away
the ghosts
created by John, Paul,
George and Ringo
on the Sullivan show
I like it. Very good write.

+1
Very nice.
Not sure what you've in mind in terms of music, but it might be worth changing the second stanza to reflect what's coming in the last two:
A couple of teens
Oh, so very young
running away from home
to see John, Paul,
George and Ringo
on the Sullivan show
Just a thought.
Looking forward to more.
Peace
Thanks for the comments. I'm still not sure what direction musically to take with this one. It's the story of my how my aunt and uncle met, and their brief time together as a family.
