Hi Renee,

Good start :D Clear message and it ties in well with the title.

I really like the parallels in v2 A job, a house, a family.....Odd jobs, their basement, and nobody.

Suggestion....but what you have works as well

Take out a loan to pay your way
or
Took out a loan; (I'm) still paying today
