Y13W41 Marsh Mellow Man

Down where herbaceous plants do thrive
Down where the yellow-headed black bird flies
You can find him lying among the reeds
He’s from the marsh and he’s right at home
Where the gators swim and the salamanders roam
He’s the salt of the earth
Chorus
Marsh Mellow Man
Marsh Mellow Man
When a super villain tries to pick a fight
With a Southern grin he just rolls his eyes
He’s more laid back than any hero can be
He never runs so don’t call him yellow
He just stands his ground staying mellow
The super villains gawk in disbelief

Hi James
Banjo or some East Asian stringed instrument?
I've been singing the chorus all day, which is great. The verses don't, pardon the pun, really stick but I'm not sure that's a bad thing. Obviously if the superpower in question is the ability to stay mellow regardless of what's happening, there's not going to be much in the way of conflict, which means not a lot of plot.
But the chorus is decidedly delightful and surprising. I think I need a few more listens...
Looking forward to more.
Peace
