Y7Wk38 Happy Together

http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=7876049

Music was his life; flowed through his veins
Kept the Vicmeister from going insane
His love was a joy ride strapped to a rocket
His telecaster screamed 'cause he knew; knew how to ROCK IT!

Inauspicious events fell like rain
Unthinkable thoughts entered his brain
His alabaster skin broke into a sweat
His telecaster cried Vic, don't do what you'll later regret

Chorus
Come on celebrate: nothing feels better
Having a good time; happy together
There's no place I'd rather be
There's nothing better than you and me

He tossed and turned hardly slept
while his telecaster gently wept
He needed the money; he had bills to pay
one step in the pawn shop was like having one foot in the grave

He used the Internet for solace and advice
Doing what he did; didn't feel right
Guitarists round the world tried to comfort him
but today joy of joys they're together, together again

chorus
Come on celebrate: nothing feels better
Having a good time; happy together
There's no place I'd rather be
There's nothing better than you and me

Come on celebrate: nothing feels better
We go together like lace and leather
soul mates lovers of ectacsy
There's nothing better than you and me

Vowing no matter the financial disaster
He'd never again hock his telecaster

chorus

Oops . . . duplicate post (see next post)

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

Vicmeister? Telecaster? Pawn shop? Rockin' it? . . .
OK, I give up . . . who was that song about?

It's the rock that gives the stream its music . . . and the stream that gives the rock its roll.

You trying to appeal to my vanity, James? :D :D :D

Actually, I quite like this - some clever lines in there. I think it'd be even better if you removed the personal references, made it more generic - after all, there's not many people know who I am outside GN!

I was actually surprised, looking through your soundclick page, how prolific you'd been since starting these assignments - and pleasantly surprised, too, how many of them I actually remembered!

Keep up the good work.

:D :D :D

Ken,

Yeah, I can see where it might not have enough details

Vic,
You trying to appeal to my vanity, James? :D :D :D
Not necessarily...I think you really do have a story people can relate to ....with a happy ending. I really struggled this week with the assignment but my research led me to read Dante and Basho read about child adoption reunions, and how to reconnect with others at a class reunion...

...and find a new band to me called Stars...When I was looking for reunion songs I read their lyrics and really wasn't interested but they had a link to their video...and I liked the music http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4lUHnwwNYc

...so I told my wife to give me an idea. When I told her the assignment and what it was based on she said, "Ohhhh" like when you see a cute puppy. Then I said "Oh!" like I've got an idea....and I read through your thread https://www.guitarnoise.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=45387&hilit=pawn
...and said Why not? It's a story worth telling with universal appeal boy meets gtr - boy loses gtr - boy get gtr again

Thanks for the listen and post.

James
