This week's song was half inspired by the recent loss of another friend, but I also sought help within the February Album Writing Month community to tweak the second verse (for that I thank Jocelyn Dubreuil) . Music to follow.

Chance of Rain

I wonder what He's doing
And sometimes if He's right
As if that makes a difference
In this, the darkest night

I try to think of the future
And I try to hide my pain, but
Seems wherever I go these days
There's a damn good chance of rain

Last week He took her from me
And led my life astray
The thing about this living
It often goes that way

I try to think of the future
And I try to hide my pain, but
Seems wherever I go these days
There's a damn good chance of rain

When this rain cloud passes
I'll be on my feet again
So much stronger, so much brighter
For having lived this pain

PS: Why does dam change?

Take care,

Casey

Hi Shady,

Good start. Sorry for you loss :(

Suggestion:

This seems like it needs slight tweaking:
Last week He took her from me......the loss (assuming He is God)
And led my life astray......deceived the singer

I don't quite see how the ideas piece together :? .....also, consider being a bit more direct on who the "He" is otherwise the listener could think you meant the singer's partner left with or was seduced by someone else

Here to, I am missing the connection between rain or rain clouds and being "off your feet"
When this rain cloud passes
I'll be on my feet again
.....maybe something about walking in the park again or some activity done after the rain.

Glad to see you're doing FAWM.....I'm giving it a go as well  I am listed as jamestoffee
