Y9W17 Blackout
http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=10306826
The AFB chapter met in the park
The power was out the streets were dark
Emergency rooms were filled with disabled
Cause people hit their shins on their coffee tables
No one else knew what to do
But the AFB members came through
Chorus
The American Foundation for the Blind
They won't back out in a black out; their skills really shine
Far more effective than the March of Dimes
The American Foundation for the Blind
The ice cream was melting so they served the town scoops
The dogs needed walking so they picked up the poops
Dirty dishes piling; Taxes needed filing
No one else knew what to do
But the AFB members came through
Flower arranging; oil needed changing
Weddings needed planning; peaches needed canning
They built a little league diamond right where we're standing
chorus
Traffic directing; tollbooth collecting
Toenails needed clipping; pancakes needed flipping
Everything seemed hopeless when there was no power
The AFB members; the heroes of the hour
chorus
Neat-oh!
Wilhelmina,
Thanks for the listen and post :D
I'm trying my hand at injecting "tall tales" in an effort to avoid cliche lines.
James
Hi James
I think you had me from the opening reverse "Purple Haze" tri-tone riff. Lots of fun and especially liked the Little League diamond line.
There's definitely a place for the "tall tales" type of songs. If nothing else it really makes you put together a lot of images one wouldn't normally juxtapose.
Looking forward to more.
Peace
Hi David,

Yes, that's where my "experimenting" is taking me these days.
Thanks for the listen and post :D
James
Great comedy piece. I guess we don't always need to take ourselves seriously.
I guess we don't always need to take ourselves seriously.
Very true
Thanks for the listen and post :D
Very much enjoyed the read and especially your amusing list of unlikely tasks which needed completing by the AFB members!
Thanks, Martin :D
