This turned out totally different and much more autobiographical than I thought
it would. The title does not actually appear in the song but I think it still makes
sense.
Karen and The Rain
It was springtime in the Berkshires
Of my twenty second year
As the clouds were forming
Over the Taconic Range
She was planting flowers
I was playing my guitar
And as the Heavens opened up
I heard her say
We've had our share of sunshine
But now He brings the rain
So the colors of the Earth
Can bloom again
If you want to know the pleasure
You must also feel the pain
So don't you cry
Or sing a sad refrain
She didn't run for cover
As the shower soaked her skin
Let the waters from the sky
Wash her clean
I said you must be crazy
Why don't you come inside
But she stood there in her garden
And she said
We've had our share of sunshine
But now He brings the rain
So the colors of the Earth
Can bloom again
If you want to know the pleasure
You must also feel the pain
So don't you cry
Or sing a sad refrain
Now our Spring has turned to Autumn
And the years have passed on by
Our children now have children
Of their own
When I see the storm clouds coming
I think about that time
Remembering her words
From long ago
We've had our share of sunshine
But now He brings the rain
So the colors of the Earth
Can bloom again
If you want to know the pleasure
You must also feel the pain
So don't you cry
Or sing a sad refrain
If you want to know the pleasure
You must also feel the pain
So don't you cry
Or sing a sad refrain
John
This is quite lovely John. Great way to end that dry spell!
Falling in love is like learning to play the guitar; first you learn to follow the rules, then you learn to play with your heart.
Very nicely written
Thanks,
This started out with the title and a fictitious woman named Chelsea and set in Boston.
Once I changed the first line in all came "Home" so to speak.

Very nicely written
+1
Hi John,
reads well, I like the way you expand the garden theme into the life theme, I think this works very well :D .
cheers
