A generic sort of Blues about obsession
Bloodhound
I'll be a bloodhound baby
If you ever change your mind
I'll be a bloodhound baby
If you ever change your mind
You might make it out the door
But you won't make it past the county line
I'll be there right on your heels babe
Sniffin' everywhere you go
I'll be there right on your heels babe
Sniffin' everywhere you go
I could be 'round the next corner
Or right behind you and you just won't know
Won't need no private eye
Won't pay to have you tailed
I'm like a bloodhound baby
I always stay on your trail
I'll be a bloodhound baby
Never giving up the chase
You might think the game is over
Then you'll turn around to see my face
I'll be a bloodhound baby
If you ever change your mind
I'll be a bloodhound baby
If you ever change your mind
You might make it out the door
But you won't make it past the county line
John
Great take on the assignment. Great concept. Great execution.
This is great!!!!
Wow! This is fun!
The only suggestion is a minor tweak of the last line of the bookend verses:
You might make it out the door
But you won't make it past the county line
I think it's just me, but I'd use a different verb in the last line. Also I'd use "that" instead of "the" for door:
You might make it out that door
But you'll never reach (or perhaps "see") the county line
Or even:
You might make it out that door
But you'll never step across the county line

Come, Sit, Stay, Good boy!! Good song!!
Falling in love is like learning to play the guitar; first you learn to follow the rules, then you learn to play with your heart.
Hey John,
looks pretty bluesy to me, and as you know I'm a sucker for the blues. Good job.
I dont think that there is anything that I would change apart from Davids suggestion.
cheers

Thanks Everybody,
I think I'll go with David's "reach" suggestion
as it seems the most natural when sang.
As far as "That" vs "The" I'll wait and see
what come out when I try recording it.
