Well, in keeping with the theme of the week, I drove home a different way. Along Colfax ave. A strip in Denver notorious for it's ladies of the evening. That along with Vic expecting a Stones style rocker from me every week and going to see the Stones this thurs. inspired this song.

Honky Tonk Harlot
The only way to get there
Is a door up in the alley
The lock is always broken and
The stairway always creaks
The lights are always dim
And the music's always blarin
She's a little bit of heaven
Dancin to that motown beat
Chorus
She'll sell her love by the hour
She'll sell her love by the night
She's way past caring
What's wrong or right
She'll sell her love by the hour
She'll sell her love by the night
She's a honky Tonk harlot
With a heart that's cold
You'll forget all your troubles
You'll forget all your pains
Before she's done with you
You'll feel so young again
She'll rock your world
till your time is done
leave the money on the dresser
I enjoyed it hun
Chorus
She'll sell her love by the hour
She'll sell her love by the night
She's way past caring
What's wrong or right
She'll sell her love by the hour
She'll sell her love by the night
She's a honky Tonk harlot
With a heart that's cold

Hey Tele
this would have to be a rocker surely. I think think the choruses work well, but just on the read I wonder about the timing in the verses, can't really tell until I hear it. I liked the way the rhyming scheme at the start was the last line of each verse, so Im wondering why you changed that later on ?.
Look forward to hearing it.
cheers
pbee
I didn't really notice the change until I read pbee's post. I thought it worked fine, and I could definitely hear it as a rock tune. Good song. Happy Thanksgiving.
Joe
Takes me back to my Bar closing days ( last call for alcohol, hotel-motel time  ) Kind of a cross between Foghat and T-rex.A good old rocker  --the dog
Good one Tele. 8) I can never tell from the lyrics but can tell if I like it or not when I hear it and I love it.
That was fun! Think I have to download this one.
Yeah I heard a little T Rex in there too.
Good Job
John
T-Rex? funny, I was shooting for a Stones type tune, When I recorded it I heard the Faces bu you all heard T-Rex. Guess it's good to get out there in front of your peers to get a cean no bias opinion.
Thanks for the kind words.

Would have loved to hear the Chorus sang just one more time at the end ... chorus - guitar chorus - guitar
