Well, the kidney and gallbladder have to go. Personally, I thought I needed more room for my ego anyway. I'll be going in Jan 4th and should be in the hospital less than a week.
If all goes well, I won't need to follow up with chemo.
I'll be glad when this is all behind me. I can't stand another one of those stupid contrasting drinks!!! BLAHHHH! You'd think with technology these days we wouldn't have to drink that crap! ..... and never mind the needles! At the prime of testing I looked like a heroine junkie! If I'm going to look like that again, I'd better have some groupies and some money to go with it!

I hear ya, greybeard. One would think that at this time of year all would be well but, illnesses, tragedies, etc.. don't take vacations unfortunately. You'd think it would happen more towards the end of January, ya know, when the bills start to show up!
Everyone have a safe and fun holiday!
Mike
Hey Mike
Science and technology can only do so much, I suppose. My sister is fond of asking "If they can put a man on the moon, why can't they put them all there?"
We'll continue to think good thoughts and send them your way. You have a great holiday with the family.
Peace
Well, at least you won't have to be in over the holidays. I'll bet you're in and out before you know it. And the recovery seems to be pretty easy, if my Dad and neighbor are any indication.

Well, that wasn't as fun as I'd thought it would be.
Still gotta go for further check ups but, I'm here and feelin' good! (Well, as good as someone can with 4 new holes in'em :D )
Thanks again everyone for the support! Everyone has been so nice and helpful everywhere I've had to go and in this day and age, that's a rarity.
Gotta go catch up on some work! 8)
Well, that's good news that you made it through OK and are back! :D

Do you get some time for rest and recuperation?

Approximately a month and a half, no work with no lifting over 5 lbs.
So playing a Les Paul is out of the question then?
Good to hear things are looking up, Mike! Relax and take it as easy as you can and don't hesitate to ask for help.
Peace

That's where the wife comes in, and I can set and play it. :D
Life gives me lemons, I make lemonade. 8)
My youngest son (5) is the funniest because he will follow me around and pick up anything I drop. Everyone has been so great to me. I truly am a lucky fella. :D
Mike
Hey Mike, glad to see your on the mend. You can always use guitar playing as physical therapy. Start with the Peter Townsend windmills(Small circle at first). Then progress to the Chuck Berry "Duck walk". By the time you progress to lifting the Less Paul you can begin working on the Nils Lofgrin back wards flip. This is done while playing a fast guitar solo
At the end..He isn't playing though
