Banner Lock-up?

I have had several lock-ups of Firefox on Vista (no laughter!). As far as I can tell, it is due to a failed download from e.nvero.net. I think it's a banner ad source, as it doesn't happen all the time - more like 1-of-5 times I open a topic.

Anyone else have this issue?

I haven't had any trouble. I'm running Explorer on Vista.

I've had no problems with Vista - I run Win 2000. :D

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

All in all, I've been happy with Vista. It was a bit rough early on when there were compatiblity issues, but that's changed now. In the end, we'll all be on Vista someday -- or switch to Mac, right?

It's happening again, and I'm not alone. Paul, do you have any clues?

Are you on the latest version of FF? (2.0.0.11)

I'd block the offending ad but haven't been able to trace it. This problem has surfaced on a lot of sites and seems to have to do with FF and add-on malfunctions.

I've noticed that the new IE is actually really good. Let me know if it happens again and I'll use my contingency plan.

I am having a similar problem when I come to the forum home page. It seems to take awhile for the top ad banner to load. When I check the banner after it loads it says it is from Triballfusion.

I am using Firefox also but on Linux (Ubuntu). I wonder if that narrows it down to Firefox?

There's a Firefox add-on called Adblock, which removes all such problems and saves a lot of wasted download time. There are 3 parts to it and it runs totally hidden from view.
I also have (amongst others) one called NoScript, which allows you to allow or block scripts in a web page (you can allow/deny either once or always).

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.

I've got FF 2.0.0.9, which isn't that old. I'll try upgrading.
