on the occasion of my 3000th post.
to suggest that the powers that be, keep this place as close to the current formula that has made it what it is.
"if it a'int broke, don't fix it."
like a nice well worn pair of jeans, this place just "fits"

I am totally with Twisted here.
Lets keep GN what it has been in the past. Any obscure innovations or experiments may not be helpful for us afterall.
So once again, I would also chime in 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
And congrats to you TL for your 3000 posts !
twist,
Congrats on the 300th post but, I have to disagree about the If it ain't broke don't fix it. You are correct to say this is a great site but all things must change or become obsolete so I think change can be a good thing. It may not be easy to assimilate to at first but you can't stay where you're at you have to keep moving forward.
So my message is Change Away.
"It's all about stickin it to the man!"
It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
what I'm saying (and you need to read between the lines a bit) is,
change for the sake of change only is not a good thing.
keep following the "formula" and continue to grow. all the changes so far have been good for GN IMO.
the only regrets I've had so far, are the trimming of the forums to lump some of them together, but as it's grown on me i totally understand the decision.
thanks for the congrats

Not all change is good.
Eg. 'I am looking for a new' was a great forum for having tips on buying a new instrument.
Now that it has been merged in Opinion and Polls, it has really made O & P clumsy by way of all the 'Staff picks' stickies right there on the top. Moreover, it is difficult to look for the previous posts made in this forum.
I hope there comes a demerger soon.
