Sure. But why should David or Paul do it for free while we just sit here? I wouldn't mind Led Zep having a reunion in my kitchen, and while there's not reason why they couldn't do it, there's plenty of reasons why they won't.

What reasons? And why not? It's basically talking about stuff you normally talk about. And it's stuff they normally take the time to post on or write articles about and it's what this website is all about. The reasons for doing it are many and the reasons against doing it are few. And Led Zeppelin in fact is having a reunion but they don't need to do so in your kitchen because you know, it's not economical, it doesn't serve the greatest number of people who would want to see it and your kitchen isn't big enough anyways. :) And with all due respect to Led Zeppelin, they aren't on the same level as David and Paul and you know, the regulars on this site like Wes or you. You guys have a community relationship with the folks here and we all read and enjoy and respect the words of many of the people here. We communicate through keyboards and I don't really see much of a difference with extending it to youtube. Website stays here, community stays here, but with the bonus of pictures and words that don't impact the bandwidth here and eventually will expand the community of like minded souls. Folks like me who have in fact bought from advertisers recommended here or in the email messages I signed up to receive. Just like the ability to write articles here you could have your video linked through the '[email protected]' site. It took some imagination and vision to put this site up to begin with and with some imagination and vision it can get more interactive at minimum cost and effort. But you know, like you said, 'Why Should David or Paul do it for free while we just sit there? ' I mean there are plenty of folks there making up a guitar community of sorts. I found plenty of guitar lessons and guitar people to talk with on youtube and actually signed up and made a short webcam video of me thanking a number of them. http://www.youtube.com/user/mygad I could make a better video with my still camera but still, it cost me nothing to put it up there and I'm connected with lots of guitar information and knowledge just like here. 8)

I'm thinking we should take the time to correct the spelling of CHRISTMAS on the front page (it's been there like a week) before we commit to any thing else.
If only there was someone we could email about that. Someone other than that Chris Mas fellow.

I'll bring it to the attention of the authorities.

I'm with Ignar on this, if you want a video make one and link it to your message. I know Dave and the GN staff are great but besides all the legal issues that may arise why should/would they do this for free? Who would this help? The people that are too cheap to go out and pay for lessons? I know I'll hear that some of you can't afford lessons..and I feel sorry for you, but that doeosn't mean someone should provide them for you for free. There are alot of things in life I can't afford and I just have to make do without them.
They aren't going to put some crappy video out there, cuz then everyone would complain, Oh Dave it was great but I can't see your fingers and could you use better lighting or maybe a split screen so I can see both hands close up....I see this getting out of hand quickly.
On top of that who's gonna buy all this video equipment? David? And pay for a replacement if it breaks.
To me this forum is great at what it does. It allows a bunch of like minded people to discuss something we all love to do in a non threatening, comfortable environment.
Also you assume Dave has nothing better to do than make free video lessons for people here. Now David may want to do that in a perfect world but all that takes time and why should he take his personal time to do this. He should be paid for it.
Lessons are just a small part of what goes on here if you need to see people show you how to play go to YouTube or get a teacher.

It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
I think don't think David or I have any problem with continuing to do all this stuff for free. Guitar Noise is a big part of what we do and who we are.
Right now it still comes down to not having enough time, and not having enough time to do things properly. Look at the high standard we've set for ourselves. We don't do throwaways - every lesson is a keeper. We're not going to put out hastily planned lessons. (I think we'd rather do our own DVD instead.)
One possibility is bringing other teachers on board for a series of video lessons. But I don't see much sense in paying for content if it's not going to be exclusive to our site. All those video lessons on You Tube can be embedded into any website. I could add a video page tomorrow with some great content from You Tube, but is it adding anything? Give us more time and we'll work it all out.
