sounds like the strings are slipping on the tuners....the high strings are prone to this as they are not wound and dont generate enough friction.........

I think the problem with softening the hands with washing up can be helped by using alcohol on the tips of your fingers to dry them out somewhat. lea...

I'd try the stock humbuckers and see if I liked them first. "Conventional wisdom" is usually too conventional and completely lacking in wisdom. +1

as a general rule...'lower' end guitars do tend to have higher action as the lower price means less attention is paid to setting up during manufacture...

a 'set up' is basically getting the guitar playing the best it can.....if you got the guitar new from a store they should've already done the basics l...
