How do I submit my band’s CD for review?
Indie bands and their reps are invited to submit their music for review on Guitar Noise. To avoid confusion and misunderstanding please read through these guidelines first.
Please don’t simply refer us to your Myspace page. We want to receive a professionally packaged CD and press kit in the mail. If you don’t have these items you may not be ready for us yet.
Before sending us your material, you will need to send an email to reviews@guitarnoise.com. Please give us a brief description of your CD and a short band bio. In order to give you a favorable review we want to make sure it goes to the right person. All of our writers are volunteers and we will do our best to get your music to the person most likely to enjoy it.
Help us out by giving us an understandable description of your music. A good description might read: “My music features progressive, hard rock riffs combined with acoustic and classical elements in the style of Ritchie Blackmore, Pat Metheny and Dream Theater.”
Please don’t describe your work as being “a spiritual quest to find my true inner self.” We’d like to know what it sounds like in order to set you up with an approprirate reviewer.
If your music sounds like something that might interest our readers and reviewers we will reply with mailing instructions. Please understand that we cannot review everything we receive. Also, we may not have reviewers lined up for every style of music. If you don’t hear back from us keep trying.
Here are a few important points to note when submitting your music:
- Please include supporting materials such as bios, press releases and contact details.
- We only review items that are for sale through a distributor or a website.
- We don’t review single tracks or music on Myspace pages.
- Sending your material does not guarantee that it will be reviewed.
- We are unable to return CDs.
