'The Amazing Slow-Downer' from http://www.ronimusic.com/ will slow down tracks directly from the CD, just for reference. It's not free, but it's about 1,000 times better than any other slow downer, IMHO.
I received my copy of BYCU yesterday and started the lessons.
I like the layout of the book...seems to hold my attention better than other books I've read.
I'm not as self-motivated as I would like, I need a structured plan to carry me forward in logical steps.
So far, BYCU fits the bill perfectly.
I ordered it today too. I keep hearing great things about it on here so I decided to just get it.
Oh the peer pressure!!!
Ah well, at least it isn't another guitar. :P
All my life I wanted to be somebody. Now I see I should have been more specific.
Surprised no one else has posted them playing along to the backing tracks..(or else I missed it)
Anyways here is me my Mexican Strat and my Roland Micro Cube
I have never played with another person before and had a lot of trouble with timing but I think I am doing ok now
Comments & critics all welcomed and encouraged..
Thanks

Keith, are we missing something here?
Hey Cowgirl, I got that book for Christmas from a very close friend who has been one of my biggest allies in learning guitar.
It helped me figure out a nice part for my On Line Jam I was stumped by.
You will really find it user friendly and EYE opening.
Good luck with your learning. :D

I just got my book yesterday and looked through it a bit and worked on the first lesson.
So far it's great. My husband walked past the room last night when I was playing the first song and was impressed. However, it's easy to impress a tone deaf person with no musical aptitude whatsoever.
I can't wait to do the rest of it.

I've had mine for a week, but I've been a slacker and only got through the first 2 lessons (although I have been practicing scales).
I guess I'll get off my arse and do some more lessons this weekend...well, that's the plan anyway.

Well done, Keith!
I've been working out of my book off and on for a while now. I'll have to buy the backing tracks so I can record some of it.
Keep it up, you're sounding great.

Help
I am glad everyone is having a good time with Blues You Can Use. I am practising Getting Funky. This song is kicking my behind. I am having trouble playing it as fast as the CD included with the book. I am thinking I will continue to practice this song, but still move on to the next song.
I am having trouble with two of the sixteenth note runs. I just don't have the speed to play them yet.
Any suggestions. My teacher still thinks I am doing well, I just have hit a brick wall at this song.
