hope your chrissy / new year went well
I dropped my guitar and scrathed the base of it just where you plug it in
now there is chipped paint work
is there any way of repairing it ??????????
or is this scar for life and a lesson to check that strap is on correctly before letting go of it ????

A chip or a scratch?

A scratch is no big deal and usually can be fixed.
A chip on the other hand is probably best left as a lesson learned. Unless you have the complete chip of paint on hand.
And you should also...even if it is just a scratch make sure the strap is on properly. nothing could be worse than the end of the strap closest to the neck has to come off and you find yourself with a broken machine head...

I love Willie's guitar. Oh the stories it could tell...
My guitars wear every scratch, chip, dent or ding with pride. Brand new, high end instruments are beautiful and all, but the well-loved and beat up guitars are the best. I think I might feel weird buying a really expensive guitar and trying to keep it looking nice. I can only hope my martin is as durable as Willie's is.
Another guitarist who will not play an axe with a scratch on it is Billie Joe of Green Day. Who needs lock straps? Tape is so much better!

Awesome pics! My Ibanez has chips and scratches all over the place. Seems to have had it's share of crashes the past 14 years. My Dean is pristine. No idea how that is possible, it has dropped from it's stand a billion times...

It's part of the custom made strap a fan made for him. It's the only one like it I've seen. It's kind of like a lanyard with a hook that goes in the sound hole.
