I looked around, and couldn't find a better spot to put a casual semi-guitar, non-playing discussion like this... so here goes...
My wife made me an amazing cake for my birthday today... I just had to show it off. She makes cakes like this all the time for our kids, but this is the first she has made one for me.

She also got me some really nice framed photos of my favorite guitarist and muse (David Gilmour) for my practice area. I am still on the hunt for the perfect chair (without arms).

That is only because her cake decorating hobby costs as much and takes the same amount of time. Really, she is great and supportive. She is even "letting" me buy a 3rd guitar tonight...

I'll bet the intonation on that thing is horrible!

... and I nearly chipped a tooth on the truss rod! I passed all the comments off to my wife. She was happy to hear all the compliments.

What did she use for the strings?
What did she use for the strings?
I think she raided his spare parts drawer and cut up a couple of number 9's.
Look forward to hearing the real answer. First I thought she had great sewing skills, but not with an E string?
I can see why it needed a truss rod, but the story of the third mystery guitar sounds very interesting too - what a great birthday!

That's so cool! Nice!
In Space, no one can hear me sing!
Apparently she used something called "craft wire". The person at the local cake decorating place suggested it. I was joking about the truss rod... she actually didn't need to put in any kind of internal structure.
I got the new guitar last night... it is a La Patrie Etude. Got a great deal (used - $175 canadian). It is in mint perfect shape.

I was joking about the truss rod... she actually didn't need to put in any kind of internal structure. Well, it does look very tasty, but if it doesn't come w/ a hard shell case, I'm not interested!
