Hello im new to this and new to guitars as well. I have a black white fender squire. I would like to take this oppertunity to say hello to every body at guitar noise! Also Could anybody redirect me to a good thread, site, place on this site, ect... that is good for VERY beginers? I want to learn some songs and chords soon and start learning how to play good songs. I would like to learn something like smoke on the water, ironman beginner stuff like that. Thank you everybody!

Welcome to GN, Roman955.

If you haven't been to Guitar Noise Lessons start there.

Also, the Easy Songs section will get you started.

Have fun and enjoy your stay.

Welcome to GN :D

For songs for beginners check out the Easy Songs Database from the main forum list.

As for chords, I find that http://www.chordfind.com is useful. You choose the chord you want to learn, and it displays on the graphic fretboard the finger postions. It doesn't show you which fingers to use on which frets thoughs, as some more detailed lessons will.

I can't say I've used them myself, but David Hodge's lessons here on GN (access from the homepage I believe) get a lot of praise around here :)

Pete

Edit: Ah Bish, you beat me to it! lol
