bish,

WOW, i have always dreamed of a chance like that, i know the feelling of playing little hole in the walls, the best money i made was 90 bucks for
4 hours, and i know you have a good carreer and family to consider, but do you think it might get to the point where you may have to choose the
full time carreer you have now or the band? i've often thought about " if i ever got a chance" could i give up my carreer that provides my wife and i a
nice life for what could be a dream come true or the very good possibility of making a major mistake, at 29, there's no doubt what i would have done,
but at 39, i don't think i could do it. Man, its somthing to think about, playing casino's is a major step up, thats for sure. go with your heart.

Yea, it's funny many of us would want to get to that point, but I think (from a far perspective) I could see not doing it. Once playing becomes a job it loses feeling. I know I'd hate to play for a living. Just make the weekend gigs fun and keep the day job to pay the bills.

Bish,
Hope I'm not going over the line, but dose your wife support your playing? I know that can be hard if she dosent, and with a full time job to, but you always think of the possiblities. It sure sounds like a sweet deal doesnt it.......

She used to, Douglasa. But not anymore. We pretty much go our separate ways on most things nowdays. I could probably quit my job and do this band thing full time and she wouldn't even know I was gone. :D

But I am going to give it a go. Even to just get out of town for a weekend could be fun.

Hey, corbind and/or rocker.

The band is talking about another guitarist. Oh never mind. I'm sure you guys are too busy.

Well, brother I know sometimes it can be hard when the sparks not there. Sometimes we just get lost in our everyday lives and totally forget each other and it gets hard to get it back. Im sure thats something we all know.

Hey, corbind and/or rocker.

Aren't you out by the border of Illinois and Iowa? Love to play but, man, that's sure would be a long commute to practices or gigs! I've been thinking about leaving a band I've been with for 3 years because we're not playin' out much these days.

Yes, I'm in the Quad Cities...It would be a drive for practice for sure. But eventually you'd probably just want to move here like everyone else.

Well, I'm about as busy as you are going to be. :D

The casino gig was a big success. We played last weekend at a local bar and had to tough it out. We played outside. The setup temperature was in the low 80's and by the 3rd set it had dropped back to the 50's.

My drumset went sharp by almost an entire T. The guitarist could hardly play saying his strings were too cold. So it was a rough night but we stayed until the end. We are also playing this Saturday. I have next weekend off and then both 29th and 30th are booked. The 30th is a bit more than 2 hours away and is for a private party. From there...it's nothing but gig after gig.

They are keeping me as long as I'll stay or they find someone maybe with a closer mindset to what they want.

For now, I'll stick it out unless some serious conflict arises. I have to say honestly that my heart is not in it 100% at this point but maybe that will improve as time goes by.

Thanks for asking!! 8)

What, he didn't have his heated guitar strings on for the outside gig?!  :P "Guitar strings too cold"... now I've heard it all. Buck up and play that thing!

Glad it's working out to some degree for you Bish. :D
