OK guys this is just a question aroused by some curiosity and browsing the sites.Just wanting to know what is the difference between these all.(Someday i'd like to have em all  )
I have to abstain from voting because I believe their all the best (plus some others on the market).
I was gonna talk about how heavier music requires a Les Paul, Blues requires a Strat and Country requires a Tele, but that is a bad generalization because many blues guys have used all of those guitars: SRV used a vintage re-built strat and also a Tele, B.B used a Les Paul. Also, not all heavy music is played by Les Pauls: Ynwegie Malmsteen (i'm pretty sure i spelled that wrong) used Strats, also John Frusciante (from the red hot chili peppers) used Teles and Strats. Anyways, I think it relies on personal taste and I can't tell you which one is better because Fender and Gibson are both great companies (even though, in my opinion, I think Gibsons are overpriced).

The Les Paul was designed as a Jazz guitar.
I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?

I love all 3 but with todays amps, efx, etc, the more versatile instrument wins. and imo that is the Stratocaster. it's able to cover more genres of music with more variety of tone. you can make a Strat sound near an LP but i've yet to hear an LP mimic a Strat.

I've deleted the duplicate poll. Please avoid duplicate threads.
Thanks.
Well we all shine on--like the moon and the stars and the sun.

Mark Knopfler - strat
Frank Rossi - tele
Paul Kossoff - les paul
Angus Young - SG
I couldn't pick a favourite, I listen to 'em all and enjoy their stuff...
It ain't what you got, it's what you do with it.....

les pauls, there are no substitutes 8)
Now of course by meaning the best , its like only among these 3 , not all the whole world of custom made , americana and what not guitars 8)
I went with my beloved Les Paul. True, I probably can't get it to sound like a Strat, but most Strat players strat's don't really sound like strats, they try to make them sound like Les Pauls!
I wouldn't want my Les Paul to sound like a strat...If I did, I would have gotten a strat instead of the Les Paul.
Telecasters for me. Gee, who'd of thunk that huh?
Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

You need to hang out with a better class of Strat players.

haha, maybe. Listen to Clapton. Clapton's strat doesn't sound like a strat at all, it sounds fat and warm like a Les Paul.

Fat and warm? Sounds more like my grandma than a guitar

I would rather have a Gibson SG than any of those. I think they look, play and sound better - Take say TSRS Led Zeppelin concert and compare the tone of the Stairway solo (SG) to the Black Dog solo (LP)...
