Hey Randy. I think there was a discussion about Scrybe a few months back. To the best of my memory, Vic (or someone else) did contact her and everything was fine. I assume there where somethings going on in her life that need(ed) her attention. I"m sure Vic will have a better insight to her whereabouts.

Along the same vien, Roy Parker has not been around these parts lately. I know he was going through some medical issues. He PM'd me some time back and mentioned that he was doing ok but still battling. Hope he's doing ok.

Not heard from Sara - "Scrybe" - since about May. I tried to phone her a few times, tried to e-mail her; there's even a message in my PM outbox that's been there since May!

I think Yashicamat heard from her a while back, but I'm not too sure....

Scrybe and Roy, if you're reading/lurking, hope everything's OK - let us know how you are!

:D :D :D

Hey all -

While I haven't heard from Roy....
I have heard from Scrybe.

She sent me this on Dec. 7th;
(Hopefully she wont mind my posting this):

"I've been horribly ill :-( had a nasty kidney infection which resulted in me being hospitalized looking like a banana that gone 15 rounds with mohammed ali (in his prime, obv). had to have IV treatments, copious antibiotics injections, tests, etc., but I seem to be on the mend now ... thankfully. It was a scary thing to go through, and I've missed strummin' my geetar, but c'est la vie, I suppose."

She also says that she has taken up a fondness for fountain pens, which might explain somewhat why she hasn't been typing much lately.

Hope Roy is well -

think I'll plug the guitar in and bounce some notes off the full moon and hope they get across the pond to her.

Hi All. Still kicking. Fever's gone finally. I found myself feeling a little bit better and became quite antsy, so I took on a bit of a project. When I wasn't working on it, I was collapsed in a chair. Not ready for prime-time yet, by any means, but not so sick as I was. It's pretty much reduced to being mostly a pain issue at this point.....which is a lot better than it was.

The Project? A kitchen remodel. Done in small little time chunks over a 5 week period. No new appliances or cabinets as I was on a budget, and the floor was already tiled a few years ago, but everything else got changed. Working within limitations and having proper timing was everything. I found about a 90-120 minute window in between med-doses where I could do light-weight things, and I utilized every second of it once or twice a day. The other 21 hours of the day was resting and recovering. Time to rest. No doctor would have ever suggested such a task and they don't know about it. However, I can't begin to describe what it did for my sanity as well as my sense of self-worth.

It is done though, so I'll be around more. I have been playing some at night, but not a whole lot. I picked up the LP last night for a couple of hours and found myself quite rusty.

I hope Scrybe gets better soon. This whole life-getting-in-the-way-of-guitar-playing is for the birds.

Hey Roy!
Sure glad to hear from you. If it makes you feel any better, I've not picked up my guitar in a good while. Like you said, the whole "life thing" has been getting in the way. You know, I'll bet doing that bit of work in your kitchen was one of the best things you could have done for yourself.

Have a great holiday!!

Hi Roy!

Glad to hear from you, indeed! When you pick your guitar a couple of times you will be playing as usual! :D

I think I didn't coincide with Scrybe (I was away some weeks this year or perhaps I didn't frequent the same forums) but I am also glad she is Ok, I've read several references to her. :D

I also missed to Greybeard. :?

Hi Roy, welcome back!

Sorry to hear Scrybe's been sick! I like fountain pens myself. Time to whip mine out and finish up this morning's charts!

I used fountain pens to give my 10 grade examinations. Those new age ball pens can't match the suave print of writing ink. 8)
