How do you get to be able to play this fast ????

OMG, that had me ROTFLMAO. The most amazing thing about that was the hair choreography.
Serious answer: First of all, the video is undoubtedly not live playing, but a pantomime over the studio recording. So a lot of physical flash is not happening during actual playing. Playing that fast? Practice, muscle memory and a low action, shredder guitar. The fastest parts are tremolo picked with the fretting hand hammer-on pull-off. Other fast parts are linear runs up and down scales with liberal use of H-O and P-O. Shaking the camera seem to add to the frenetic, high-speed feel.
You can do this Rodders -- if you want to put in the time.

All in all, not a bad bit, if you are into shred. Just takes practice, I suppose.

They've also got tapping going on, both with their fingers and with picks.
I thought it was pretty good. Well, the guitar playing at least. The video was about as cheesy as they get, but there's a lot of talent there no doubt.
I'll never be able to play like that. Then again, I have no desire to. :)
