Remember, you have to figure in chords and individual finger runs.
Which fretting extremady do you think gets use the least?
Why can't I edit the poll?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Are you testing me Mike  You know I'm a sucker for Over/Under rated polls. Oh, wait a minute. This isn't about guitarist though. ooops.
:P

well, it's the thumb...who uses a thumb??????
but i voted pinky, because i tihnk the inclusion of "thumb" is a bad decision. It's like asking which is more important for survival, your heart or your big toe.
but the pinky...that goes unused 50% of the time...for me at least.
damn pinkies
fretting finger.......thumb
but is that a finger?
fretting finger.......thumb
but is that a finger?
No, but for some reason I can't edit it out! I had a brain fart, it happens.
well, it's the thumb...who uses a thumb??????
Me :D
ah, i guess my hands arent big enough to pull that off.
well, it's the thumb...who uses a thumb??????
Me :D
I always use my thumb for fretting except it is in the back of the neck all of the time so does that count as most used?
My least used in my pinkie. Sometimes I just want to take it out back and shoot it
I'm thinking it's a tie between my thumb, index, ring and pinky.

My thumb gets my vote - doesn't matter wht I'm playing, it's right there in the thick of the action stopping my guitar neck going too far back.

I know, I know, I really should use my pinky more - the first time I broke it, a few years ago, it wasn't set correctly and is now a little deformed....always been a bit of a struggle since, especially playing something like a G5/G6/G7 shuffle, and when it was broken again recently - I've only been playing again for a couple of weeks - I seem to have lost the 5 fret stretch completely if the barre's any lower than the 7th fret - hopefully, with practise and exercise, this'll come back - it feels a little looser now than a week ago, but still a stretch....and my hands are BIG!
I use my thumb a fair bit - for a D chord, I like to sound the F# bass note on the bottom E string, I like to use all the strings wherever possible....and it seems to facilitate changing between barres at the same fret, say from Bmin to F#m, if I use the thumb for the bottom string(s)......

i guess more people use their thumbs than i thought.
i'll give it a go
I don't use any of my fingers. I just fret the strings using my mind and I strum them using The Force.
