2) I stole this idea from someone I knew in high school. He wrote a short story about it and I've always thought it'd be a great song: a guy (person, couple or family) gets forced into the median strip of a busy highway (think Los Angeles) and can't get back on. There's too much traffic. So he/they has to try to live there or (as happened in the story) perish in a desperate attempt to run to the other side.
