It's with Tish Ciravolo, the woman who came up with the concept of Daisy Rock guitars. She's married to Schecter guitar's founder. Once you get past the Daisy Rock spiel at the top (although, it's kind of interesting, too) and get to the actual interview she talks about what it has been like for her to go from a struggling bass player to a guitar manufacturer.

I hope not to offend anyone who owns a Daisy Rock because I do think it is a great concept and they do make cool guitars however...

I agree. (I have to admit I didn't read the article but..) As for Daisy Rock guitars, it's like they are geared toward 12 year olds. Or Girls who are more concerned if their lipstick mathces their nail polish. Not saying I don't like girly as I am somewhat girly myself. We should start a girl guitar company that makes guitars size wise geared toward women, but when it comes to design something with more of an edge - still girly but not hearts and pink flowers. Nothing you would look at and think it looks fluffy and cute.

It's not easy being green.... good thing I'm purple.

This what you are thinking of purple?

Purple burst and an odd shape. I'd post more links but I can't stop thinking about how much I want that second guitar.

I don't know, I'd take one of these http://www.daisyrock.com/products/stardust/elite.htm over a dean any day of the week and twice on a Sunday. 8)

Immature? Of course I'm immature Einstein, I'm 50 and in a Rock and ROll band.

I think they've really picked their market well. There's a young lass down the road from me 8-10y/o, who wanted to graduate from her 3/4 size classical, and when I told her about Daisy Rock guitars, she sounded keen on it.

Regards,
Paul

I kinda like the midnight purple burst one, but if I had to choose I'd pick the Dean ML over that. Not just for looks though, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong since I've never played a Daisy Rock but they looks more like they are on the warm and muddy side while the Dean's have more power with distortion.

Both Elecktrablue and I have the Daisy Rock Retro-H 12 string. Mine is white; hers is pink. I don't have much to compare to but i think they're about the same as Schecters.

This is addressed in the article!! :D

Where Daisy Rocks WERE originally designed for younger girls, it is not now the case!! Check them out!!!

I've checked most of the Daisy Rocks and the top of the line ones only offer "Duncan Designed" pickups. Schecter has duncan designed pickups in some of their models as well. They also offer actual Seymor Duncans, Passive EMG's and Active EMG's. Both have grover tuners which is good, along with the set necks. One thing they do have on a lot of them is a coil tap system. Schecter doesn't have those. I don't see any Daisy Rock 7 strings but onlu a few manufacturers make those. Also, I can't find any Daisy Rock guitars with a Floyd Rose. I'm a pretty heavy tremolo user so it would be nice to have that option, but I can't find any that have a Floyd Rose or any sort of tremolo system.

I can't say I blame them though. It's not that there is anything wrong with them, just that they aren't designed for girls like me. They aren't geared towards the female metalheads.

Edit: Found these http://www.daisyrock.com/products/rebel_rockit/supernova.htm No locking nuts but at least it's something. Found a Daisy that has Seymour Duncans as well. http://www.daisyrock.com/products/rockcandy/rc_pinklabel.htm Bolt on neck though........

They're not really designed for female metalheads but contrast can be a good thing. They have a hot pink sparkly guitar that i think would be great for some male metal player. for a girl it's a bit over the top but for a guy it'd be great.

I also think i remember seeing a pic of some female metal bass player who has their champagne bass.

Gibson has their goddess series, and I think it's Epiphone that makes the Nancy Wilson signature guitar. I saw them in some guitar magazines not too long ago.

I think it is a good idea especially to get younger girls into guitar. I am not surprised women of all ages are attracted to them as they are cute but how do you play hard rock with a guitar called daisy or pixie? A male metal head with one of those guitars would be awesome though!

Gibson Goddess series, went to check it out and..

Purple begins to salivate for the violet burst LP! That's right up my alley. Sort of girly but still says I rock. :D

Yeah that's more like it! The odd shape one is totally 80's.
