Ritual – Think Like a Mountain

I must admit that I wasn’t too enthused by this album upon my first quick listen. The voice, for one, threw me off, and it took me a while to get into it. But, upon my second listen, things changed. Drastically.

At least now I was expecting this particular voice; not a bad voice, just different. It’s hard to explain, but it just didn’t click at first for me.

After my second listen, I now liked the voice. As for the music; great!

From the (you’ll agree, well-titled) explosive Explosive Paste, to the longing Mother You’ve Been Gone for Much too Long, to the strange, yet exquisite Moomin Took my Head, (I would welcome any insight on who or what is a Moomin) this album changes moods often and takes you right along with it.

Ritual, certainly a band worth knowing, Think Like a Mountain, certainly an album worth owning.
