Steve Cunningham – Dubious Tones

Jazz guitarist Steve Cunningham offers us his prowess on slide dobro, lap steel and electric guitars, accompanied by drums, upright bass, keys and an assortment of brass.

Certainly a talented instrumentalist, with songs that hold up beautifully. Steve has an interesting approach as well as a distinctive sound; you could probably make him out in a crowd.

Although this is mainly a Jazz album, certain songs move out of the genre, like Hemp with it’s more folk-rockish approach and the almost hillbilly version of America.

As a first album, I say bravo! Hopefully the man will not stop there.
