Was looking at the specs for my American five-string Jazz bass at it said that there was a push button in the electronics to change the pickups from parrallel to series.
However, I don't seem to have one?
The serial number is N9377991, what can you tell me?
Is mine an earlier model?

Can't tell by the serial number but yours might be an earlier one. Here's a link to a pdf about the S-1 switching:

It would be on the first volume knob if it's there at all. It's a push/pull knob besides being able to rotate.

It looks like yours might be from 1999 or 2000, so it probably doesn't have the S-1.
