I came across a lefty 1983 Vantage 725BLH. Never actually heard of vantage before, and I'm seeing a lot of conflicting opinions regarding quality. Seller says it collectible. Asking price $400, will try to bring it down a little.
I pity the fool, but also suggest ways he might better himself.
That does not look anything like the Vantages made in the early 1980s in Japan. The headstock logo is completely wrong. And they did not have a model 725 in 1983.

Here's what they looked like in 1982:

That DOES look like a 1992ish 725B (LH is obviously left-handed.) In the late-80s, early 90s they were made by Samick in Korea. The early Japanese models might be collectible (like Arias, Univoxes, etc.) but the Samick-built ones are NOT.
PASS at that price.

Awesome. Good looking out slej.
Its rare finding used leftys, I might've gotten a little ahead of myself.

It is a small world for metal fanatics. I welcome you fellow musicians, especially the metalheads!
This is actually my bass. It is currently up on eBay at a much lower price.

The confusion stems from the serial number, I originally thought it denoted 1983, which would have meant Matsumoku. I have since learned that it's a 1993 model, post-Matsumoku. Still a very nice bass.
