Hi.

I am trying to learn the above song on bass for my band. I am really new to bass and am having problems with the timing from the tab. Mainly because you cant hear it in the song

I am using Intro and verse:

Gb|--------------------------------------------
Db|-------------------------------------------- x16
Ab|--------------------------------------------
Eb|--0h2-2-2-2-0-0-0---------------------------

Gb|--------------------------------------------
Db|-------------------------------------------- x1
Ab|--5--5-0-0-5-5-5-0-5--7--7-0-0-7-7~/10-------
Eb|--------------------------------------------

and

Chorus:

Gb|--------------------------------------------
Db|-------------------------------------------- x1
Ab|------------------0-2-3-5-5-5---------------
Eb|--0h2-2-2-2-0-0-0---------------------------

Could some REALLY kind soul help me with the timings for rift 2 and 3 as I am really keen to be able to play it well at my first band practice. I just cant get it. eg 1+2+3 4 , 1 2+3 4 etc

Thanks so much (in advance!)

Wayne

Almost never is timing written on tabs because its just to hard to do, if not impossible. Some tabs have a regular music score over them so you can get the rhythm, but if its just the tab, you'll never be able to figure out the rhythm from looking at it, because its not there. The bass might be the same as the guitar part, so you could try that. Who does the song?

edit: found a power tab of it, you can hear the bass great and even see it being played. its here at the bottom:
http://www.powertabs.net/pta.php?page=artist,2

if you don't have power tab, go to http://www.power-tab.net and download the powertab player. Once you've installed it, download the tab and open it. To view the bass part go to the top bar, click view, then bass score.

The first time I heard a Beatles song was "Let It Be." Some little kid was singing along with it: "Let it pee, let it pee" and pretending he was taking a leak. Hey, that's what happened, OK?-some guy
