You should go to the music store and try one yourself. If you are good enough yet to put it through its paces, ask another customer or a salesperson to play it for you, so you can hear it.
Be careful about listening to it because a lot of times the feel of the guitar is just as important as its sound.
If you are not skilled enough to know what a good guitar feels like, don't buy it.
