I found a tab that said Daug. What does that mean? What's an augmented chord? That's what the 'aug' means right?

I figured Daug was just a variant of Dawg. :D
"A cheerful heart is good medicine."
An example might help
Whereas D major contains three notes - D F# & A
D augmented contains three notes D, F# & A#
As you can see, the distance (interval) between the first and last notes has been increased (augmented) by a half step.
In terms of chord notes - an augmented chord comprises 1, 3 & #5 in relation to a major scale.
Just for reference:
Major = 1, 3 5
Minor = 1 b3 5
Augmented = 1 3 #5
Diminished = 1 b3 b5
havin a daug day here.
.the above post says it. thnx
There's a great dhodge article on the subject (ain't there always? :wink: ) - https://www.guitarnoise.com/article.php?id=443
Augmented chords can sometimes be represented as a "+" sign. Diminished chords sometimes use a degree (as in the little circle) sign. The keyboard really needs a degree sign key.
