I'm having trouble with my first finger with bar chords. Its like my finger isn't long enough and it always seems to dampen the second and sometimes first string. I can aarrange my hand in an awkward position to do it, but then I can't get any of my other fingers anywhere. I'm a beginner and I need to know if this is somewhat normal. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It's http://www.cyberfret.com , not 'cybre'.

Don't worry about it, Smurf. Everyone has trouble with barre chords at first.

Practice the barre on its own, moving it to various places on the neck. To get all the strings to ring, you may need to roll the finger slightly onto its side, towards the headstock.

Make sure the thumb is opposite the index finger, not curled over.

Practice the chord shape on its own, without the barre. This even sounds like a real chord in some locations, like the 2nd, 3rd and 5th fret for example.

There are many, many, many threads on this forum where people have asked the same question. Have a look around.

Relax.
