Specifically left hand exercises that will work on

dexterity
speed
strength

Some chromatic exercises, etc. Like a workout routine for the fingers.

I have a hand exerciser/gripper I'm currently using while at the computer. I really want to improve my technique.

thanks

Or you can get your hands on the Guitar World Issue that has Steve Vai's 30 hour workout in it. I believe it was the one with Jimmy PAge and Joe Perry on the cover. Lots of great exercises in there even if you don't want to shred.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- "WOW--What a Ride!"

If you want a sample, Jamie Andreas has written a few articles on ibreathemusic.com.

James Andreas is a real technician. A lot of eye opening techniques.

Very cool. The "heavy arm, firm finger" works.
