When i look at guitar home videos, some times i hear a constant click, is that something they use as a device to stay on track? how much are they? i remeber i had one for my old piano.

It's probably a metronome.
I, fortunately, already have one for my piano, and plan to use it for guitar too. :D
I got mine for about 1800Yen. Which is about $18.
That's for one that's not "fancy".

Or you can use your computer and it's free..
http://www.metronomeonline.com/ has a good sound (not an annoying beep), or search google for a downloadable one with more features...
