Being a relative newcomer to effects terminology I would greatly appreciate a site or source that would match sound clips with definitions of various effects.
like a one stop shop for terminology reference, but with sound clips.

For instance, when I hear/read of a certain effect I can't always reference in my minds/ears eye what exactly is being talked/written about.
It would help greatly in learning to match the tones I hear on various recordings when trying to play along.

If this is not available on the web somewhere already, I think it would be a valuable learning tool for GN

Start at

some useful samples of their range - just don't cry when you hear how much like the £1,000 AC30 the £150 AD30VT sounds

This site has mp3 samples for a number of more common effects:

Lefty:

Goto: http://www.bossus.com/

Hover on the "INTERACTIVE" menu and click "Virtual Pedal Board"

There you can attach an OD or DS Pedal, then a Flanger or Chorus or what ever you like, then hear a sample or two in different styles of music (ie,Rock, Country, Blues).

There's also the "Essential Effects Lab" and other cool things there.

No I dont' work for Boss, I think its a pretty cool site for "Testing" different pedals...etc.

Cheers.
