The Epi is perfectly decent, however I've never found them stunning.
Other options,
Rondo music Get an Agile close to the same price as the Epi and you'd likely get a guitar as good or better.
Yamaha also makes good quality LP style guitars at varous levels.

If you want a long term keeper, look at the Epiphone Elite series. These Japanese made Epiphones have similar specifications to the American made Gibsons and are more consistent than the lower priced Gibsons I've seen. Or if you're in a big enough market, look for a used Gibson without issues.

If you search the forum, you'll see we've had a few discussions about this recently :D

You know I should ask Kurt for something...at least free strings and a 20% discount on future purchases! I am looking at one of their acoustic/electrics...it's a toss up between that or an Ibanez acoustic/electric...

The best is all in the player...personally the epi's I have tried do not justify their price when I can get the same feel and playablity from the Agiles at a more reasonable price. Epi's are nice guitars but I refuse to pay for a name...

Like TwistedLefty's sig used to say...."Beauty is in the eyes of the BEER holder!"

That's funny. I was thinking the SAME THING when I bought my Epi instead of a Gibson. :)
