Hi I have been playing for 8 months and Im getting better with speed now, but for some reason my picks are like shredding up in less than 1/2 hour, what kind of picks should I use that will last? I play heavy metal

some bands use quarters or half dollars. Probly thrash the strings a bit.
Could try switching to heavy pick and not going at it so hard.
I was doing the same thing when I started playin metal, almost went through a pick a day... u have to understand that even though it sounds like these guys are hammering on the strings they really arent. If you play a little softer with some more volume you'll get a better sound plus save your strings and picks.
